White stuff on palm

Hi! I have this white stuff growing on the palm plant in my chams enclosure! What is it and how do I get rid of it!? Is it harmful to my cham?

Thanks!

that’s a lot of pressure to put on me @MissSkittles 😅

look up flowerpot dapperling, it’s a type of fungus/mushroom that grows naturally in soil. Probably consuming nutrients from the rotten palm bark. Looks like that from the picture, if nothing is suffering I wouldn’t worry about it. Mushrooms are often a sign of healthy soil I always let mine be, plus they look cool.

Can’t say for certain though, could be many things. Either way I wouldn’t worry. These Cham’s are from areas with far more mold, fungus, dangerous insects, and animals than are in our home. I tend to worry more about my plants getting messed up by pests than the Chams themselves.

Maybe an exotic fungus or bacteria. To go on the safe side when/if you are concerned you could wash and repot the palm. Exotic bacteria does occasionally make its way to the reptile hobby from wild habitats. You could spray/wash the palm with no soil on the palms stems and roots with a reptile disenfectant then wash again.
