Why is my new veiled chameleon climbing on the top of the cage(upside down)

Hi I just got a new veiled chameleon and he is always climbing to the top of the cage hanging. I am very worried because he almost fell one time and every once and a while he would need to regrab with his tiny little feet Please help

Could be many reasons. Stress, low temperature etc. My chameleon used to do it before I moved up his enclosure on a desk. Chameleons prefer to look down at their surroundings

When my veiled was a baby she would do this all the time once she was bigger around six months she just stopped I think its a baby thing?

@ShadowMaster107,maybe he try to get to the other top side of the cage(jk),
My suggestion to you is put more branches in ur upper cage so he will have more space to climb n walk, without getting burn from the heat lamp.

Mine used to climb up to the top of her enclosure just to sleep, bit I rearranged things and got new plants bow she doesn't do it. I heard a lot of young chameleons like to do this.

I do agree that the babies seem to like to hang upside down, especially under the uvb light. I noticed also it seems they do it more when they are first getting settled into their cage and then they basically just stop doing it. It made me a nervous wreck when they would hang upside down under the basking light as I was so afraid they were going to get burned. I would run over there and shut the light off, but they seemed to move pretty quickly when they realized how hot it was.
