This male although from the same "farm" as all my other imports, looks quite different. He came in another import from a different importer.

He is a very cool specimen. You are so lucky to have him and the knowledge to care for one so special. I know my limitations and will stay with veilds but envy you.

Very nice! Are you going to buy any others of this type of Trioceros hoehnelii? Make some pairs if you can?

Best Regards

Jeremy, it's not like I get to choose what they send over from Kenya. It's a crapshoot as to what you receive. I've seen pictures of the animals for the next import they look more like what I already have, brighter yellow heads with some red on the eye turrets and around the head. I do like the blue on the eye turrets though.

I am alert to that detail that they may not be available from the importer again. Sometime though the importers say they can bring in that specific type or phase in the next shipment. I was asking just to hear how taken you are by this type/phase of Trioceros heohnelii. As there is a lot of variation and similar species to choose from with the species Trioceros heohnelii.

@bobcochran That is a really unusual animal. I love his armor! Are the scales on his casque different? More convex than concave? I thought your others might have had concave scales on the casque.

Janet, you have an excellent eye! I didn't really notice the difference. I wouldn't say the yellow head locale has concave scales on the head, but they are certainly flatter.

Yes, the pictures are spectacular! They might be one of the most prehistoric looking chameleon species there is, with their sharp spines and their big-scaled casque :)
