will he eventruly learn that its hot and it wil hurt???

thanks

1) you are not supposed to use coil bulbs, they are faulty, use a linear uvb light.
2) DO NOT PUT THE LIGHTS IN THE CAGE. They are supposed to stay out of the cage pointed at it from a reasonable distance from the :basking" spot. can you please post a pic of your set up? Also, if you are truly using a tank, you shouldn't. Tanks do not have enough air flow, especially for veileds. Post your set up and details so experts here on the forums can help you make the best, safe, cage you can.

glass tanks and or cages have been uesed for veileds for many years in the UK, canada, germany, and many other places...even the USA...with great results.

Just sharing what i've learned from everyone else. Even still, coil bulbs is a no no, and lights inside the enclosure is dangerous.

After reading chris anderson's post on the glass issue I was under the impression that a tank just had a screen lid and was glass everywhere else and was not good for the chams. It's the glass enclosures with screen on top and on the bottom that creates air flow because as the air get hot it rises out the top and is replaced by cooler air through the bottom screen area, this will not happen if only the top is screen. The air will get stagnant and wont do your cham much good. I beleive thats when he said atleast. Oh and do not ever put a coil bulb in an enclosure, they get far too hot. I beleive the new ones are ok to use but should only be used with caution as they are alot stronger than the linear tubes and can cause eye problems if the cham stares at them from very close. Good luck.

Remove the coil bulb and put a reptisun 5.0 bulb. The lights should not be in the cage. How about you post some pics and let us see your set up.

Yes I meant glass tanks, not glass terrariums. Glass tanks do not have good airflow and can cause URI's and bacterial/fungal growth.
