I have a young male veiled about 2.5 months old and sometimes when he walks he wobbles all over the place. When it comes time to eat or drink he stops. Just wondering if this is something that normally occurs or if is the beginning of a problem. Besides the wobbeling he is fine eats a decent amount (7-10 small crickets a day) and drinks when ever i mist him. He is not lethurgic, he actually moves pretty fast when i start misting, im pretty sure he donesnt like that. I have one 5.0 UV florecent in there and a basking lamp.

Chameleons do wobble as a normal characteristic of their locomotion. This method is meant to appear random, just like a leaf blowing in the breeze.

But, MBD can also produce a non fluid walk, due to damaged bones.

What is your supplementation schedule? What do you use to gutload your feeders? That info might assist in ruling out or pointing towards a supplementation issue.

Hes fine. We refer to it as the chameleon shuffle, or chameleon dance. They are hoping that the predator or prey does not see their movement, and just like Chora stated, mimicking a leaf in the wind.

I feed my crickets collard greens, mustard greens and a wedge of lime and dust them with calcium with d3 before feeding.
