Wont use sand

Hi I have a female veiled chameleon thats gravid and swelling up to lay eggs. She wont use sand but I was thinking about mixing it with potting soil. I give her liquid calcium 4 times a week now and she is really getting plump towards the back. The container im useing is 3 feet tall with 1 foot of sand. How much dirt should i mix in?

I use about a 50/50 mix of coir (coconut husk soil) and sand.

Like ferretinmyshoes, I use a 50/50 mix, however, I use organic potting soil (no fertilizers) and sand.

I used organic soil, too. I just think they need that earthy smell. My female has already laid eggs in it. Good luck.

Is the containers her cage? If not how is it you know she won't use it? Are you moving her back and forth??

Maybe she's not ready to lay yet?
