Worm Help

This is my first cham and he is a vieled that is about 6 to 8 weeks old. He is about 4 inches long and 3.5 grams. He loves crickets and will eat 20 in one sitting if i keep giving them to him. I dont want to just give him crickets and the petsmarts and petcos around here are terrible about keeping worms. they are always all dead or way to big.

What is a healthy worm that is small enough for him to eat and where should i order them?

The guy at petco said mini mealworms but compaction? or is that not an issue. i try to take everything the petco people say with a grain of salt and do my own research because the chams there always look horrible

My veiled babies just loved Phoenix worms. Mulberry Farms also has micro super worms. He's probably love some flies too. You are going to need to order feeders online. Check out the site sponsors. Many carry allot of different feeders.

Skip the mealworms. You can order silkworms and hornworms in small sizes. Hornworms will grow so fast that you will be throwing half of them out so I would wait on those. Silks will last a lot longer. While he's so small I'd try "Linda's gone buggy". They offer samplers in small quantities. It will give you a chance to try out a few different feeders without ordering large quantities. I also agree with jannb about the Phoenix worms and flies. The blue bottle flies and house flies I order from Mantisplace.

Silkies are definitely a good idea and they grow MUCH slower than hornworms so you can keep them around longer. My 4 month old females LOVE them.
