Worms

Now I know worms such as meal worms and wax worms should only be fed as treats. But I just got an order of hornworms, silkworms, and Phoenix worms in and I was wondering how often I should Feed those?

I was thinking everyday give him his normal crickets then one day a couple horns then the next day a couple of silks and so on then maybe like the 4th day just crickets?

Any other suggestions?

I have crickets, supers and wax and I was wondering the same...?

Silkworms are one of the healthiest staple feeders you can feed your cham. Hornworms are healthy as well but should be used semi regularly (few a week). They aren't as healthy as silks, but they pack a huge hydration boost for your cham. I have not used Phoenix worms, but I would treat them like hornworms. The trick with insect larvae is to alternate between silks, horns, phoenixes, butters (larvae) and chitinous insects (roaches, crickets). A word of caution: Keep a close eye on your silks and horns. Mold and bacteria will kill them and make a disgusting mess. The great news is that chams love silks and horns and are great for breaking hunger strikes as well. Just make sure you don't exclusively feed your cham silks/horns/phoenixes. Chams will get spoiled and refuse anything else. Then you'll have to stop using worms entirely until your cham eats chitinous insects. Keep it alternating/mixed and it should go well.

I use pheonix worms daily. They are high in calcium which is good.
I dont use them as a staple feeder, but I feed 2-3 a day to my veiled.

my chams wont eat the phoenix worms booo, but as for the horns i feed like a couple in a week, mainly silkies, and gutloaded crix..

Hi
while hornworms and silkworms are very good prey choices, you need to be cautious of offering too many soft bodied feeders. I would suggest you alternate a soft food with a "crunchy" chintonous food, or offer both soft and crunchy together.
So instead of crickets, horns, silks, crickets (crucnhy soft soft crunchy)
could be crunchy (cricket, mealworm, superworm, terrestrial isopod or roach), then next day soft (horns, silks) and then the next day a crunchy choice again

This is what I do as well. I alternate by day; crunchy, soft, crunchy, soft... And use a minimum of 4 insects a week. I can go out and collect wild mantids and grasshoppers too though, so I can get crunchy feeders that might be tougher for others in colder climates to still have access to.
