So you want to put hydro balls in stagnant water for them to hold and collect bacteria?

Hydro balls work so well in vivariums because of the rest of the set up. Like all the little bugs that live of the bacteria and waste.

How about a Humidifier, they are fairly cheap at Menards or Home Depot.
