hey guys sometimes for my chameleon i put a bunch of ice cubs on top of his cage so that they start to melt and he can attempt to catch them in his mouth:rolleyes:

do you guys think this is a better strategy than misting the cage manually???

wtf? I don´t think that´s a good idea, newly melted ice is probably too cold for a chameleon

I have heard of other members putting icecubes on top to melt. However I don't think this would replace misting, but replace your drip system.
Cheers!

I would agree. Better to use a dripper. Chams like warm water. You will still need to mist him regularly through out the day. I doubt if the ice cubes would provide very much in the way of humidity.:)

It is a good way to replace a dripper but no a good way to replace misting. Because misting will give you a higher humidity and more spots for your chameleon to be able to hydrate. :)
