my new pair of Kinyongia Uthmoelleri arrived this morning and I couldnt be happier! The male is absolutely incredible and he ate almost immidiately after putting him in the cage. I cant get any good pics yet showing off how vibrant he is. The female is cute, and small, about the size of my female bradypodion.

They are beautiful. I was torn with alot of what nick had. I wound up getting the pair of acuminatus he had.

Please please breed them lol. I am starting to get really interested in these species.

Thats the plan. These are my favorite species. I would love to get a captive bred population going but, maybe theres a reason why there isnt one already. I showed the female to both of my males and they showed absolutely no signs of interest so idk. They also didnt seem to care one bit when they saw each other either, even inches away from one another.

They are unbelievable!! Really cool species. Maybe they just need some seasonal changes to get them in the mood :D

Beautiful! And they look like they are in good shape!
Funny how some species tongue test and others don't!

They both look great!! Im jealous!! Looks like finally a female that is not used and abused comes in for this species. Too bad they only come in once every year or so. Get to work, son!! Im waiting on a few babies;)

ya Jared thats why I had to jump at the chance to get this female, even tho I had to buy a pair to get her (the male isnt bad either:)) I just wish there was more info out there on them. Too bad they arent like panthers or veileds when you show them a female its ON lol
They both seem to be sub adults

The female is real nice looking. Ive seen plenty of pics of uthmoelleri males. I want to see more of the female! Yeah, too bad every other species isnt like veileds and panthers:rolleyes::D How did she act when she saw them? Id be wondering if the female has bred before you got her, if she is starting to produce an infertile clutch etc. Regardless, if the males dont want anything to do with her, time to start cycling them!

For anyone wanting a good rundown on cycling this is a good thread.

she didnt react at all. Actuallly, lemme take that back. When I introduced the larger older male that Ive had to her enclosure and he got close to her while walking on a branch she was on, she dropped to the ground and laid motionless in the exact position she landed, looking dead with just her eyes looking around and she stayed like that for a few minutes.
And like I said, the males showed no interest in her either. Ive never cycled chams before but Im gonna try it and see, and Ill get you more pics of the female:)

Super-beautiful speciments! Hope the best for them :D
You said that there's no captive born for this species.. you're talking of the actual disponibility or this species was never reproduced at all? also in Europe?

I know Laurie on this forum (I think) hatched out some babies but Im not sure if theyve ever been raised to adulthood in captivity. Not sure if anyone knows what it takes to get them to breed in captivity. I have 2 males and they werent the slight bit interested in her or each other.

Catherine (pardalisgirl) hatched some. I think they died when she had a problem with her furnace along with a lot of other rare animals. Fortunately her and her husband were unharmed though.

The girl looks fantastic!! Ill take her whenever you get tired of her:D
