Have just started breeding locusts and my first batch hatched last week and more this week. Much easier than I thought. I keep the adults in a small Exo Terra terrarium with a light and heat mat I had spare and some damp sand. Got about 200 babies so far. Transferred them to a cheap plastic herp tank which I stuck mesh on the lid. Now using the small cheap plastic herp tanks to put the sand in so I can just stick a lid on when babies are incubating and hatching.

nice, I'm still waiting to see if an egg cluster laid by a big female I caught will ever hatch. The damp sand is for them to lay in, right? Do you need to keep spraying it to keep it fairly damp during incubation? also is it normal for the female to die shortly after laying? mine was just laying there lifeless afterwards
