Hi.
Just writing to say my male Yemen has become very tame and he comes out on his own alot now and enjoys it very much.
I will post pics my wife took and will try to video him so others can see how easy he is.

Mine is pretty mellow. He likes to come out of his cage too. He always used to make a break for it once I opened the cage so he could sit on the door. They are not as mean as everyone says they are. But im sure there are pretty mean ones out there.

mine came from a bad keeper. then i took him in, still young, and he just got territorial. i dont think its being mean.

use garden gloves to help you get him used to you and build his trust in you and your soon get him liking it.
He will puff up and hizz and if he bites it won't hurt you and he will soon to start not liking the glove so you get him to pass from glove to bare hand to get to a part of his vivarium .
Do this every couple of days for a week and then put the back of your hand in at a time he wants to move from one spot to another and he must stand on your hand to cross.. This shows him your a safe person and he will trust you more and more then your know when to not use gloves.
This is all I did with mine and now he is very calm and also talk to him as that helps you and him.
Good luck.

Chameleons can't really hear as you and I can. They feel things. Also make sure not to hold him unless he walks onto you from the front of the cage. Handling is stressfull for most chameleons.
