ZeeZee plant (ZAMIOCULCAS) safe?

My chameleon (and my friend's chameleons, who stayed a day in my apt) love my large, healthy ZeeZee plant for hanging out. I use it as a perch when I'm cleaning the cage. After recently buying my growing female Veiled chameleon a new cage, I decided it would be nice to put the ZeeZee plant in there permanently. So I did my research and it turns out not much is mentioned about whether or not these are toxic to chameleons. My female will chomp down on pretty much any green plant if it's dripping wet with water, so I don't want to take the risk of putting a toxic plant, or even semi-toxic plant in there. I've had the plant for about a year and never once used fertilizer; can I assume the soil is safe? Should I maybe throw some stones on top just be be sure? Are ZeeZees (ZAMIOCULCAS) safe?

Additional Information:

The leaves of the eternity plant have been used to relieve stomach aches by indigenous tribes in the jungles of Ghana. However, ingesting large quantities of the zeezee plant can be fatal.

I can not find any references that suggest this plant is used in West Africa. It is native to dryer parts of East Aftrica, not Ghana. I would like to see a citation about it's use by humans.

I can not find any citations of poisoning in my references. It is in the Aroid family, and occurs in seasonally dry climates, but is rarely grazed on there, so I would wager it has high levels of oxalic acid crystals ( called raphides ). I would not put one in an animal environment with a grazing species like a veiled or panther.
