I bought a new Zoo Med Haba Mist system. The thing is awsome. It can be set to go off on intervuls and for whatever duration i choose! Does anyone else have one or use a different kind? How much water does it hold? I'm very excited that i bought one!

WOW, this is the first I saw that someone loves their Habba Mist????

habba mist

It's nice i think. Works really well. It's a little loud but who cares, it doesn't bother me at all. Why what have you heard that is negative about them?

a lot of people here refer to them as a Habba Spit. i myself have never used them and really dont have a right to talk bad about them. i almost did buy one, but was talked out of it, and just bought a PM. i guess you either hate em' of love em'

OMG Rhettus..
If you like that habba mist, i'll be willing to sell you mine for 30 buck+ shipping (brand new. I opened them already, but never get to use them. and has been staying at my closet for 4 months laying dormant).

I kinda feel bad selling mine as many, including me, find it useless.

habba spit

Mine mists really well lol you can adjust the flow of the mist. It doesn't spit it sprays lol Sorry doodlah i already bought one and don't need another. If you really find it that worthless you could sell me it for $30 shipped, then i'd buy it.... maybe :p

good call

Well i hope you don't buy it on my account, i really think the thing works well tho if you tinker around with it you should be able to get it to mist the enclosure just how you want! Thanks for all of your input on these forum threads man, i'm sure it's appreciated by many.

I have three of them and I think they are just fine. I bit irritating sometimesi'll admit but I don't have the room for big fancy sytems and it's convenient if I have to work a long shift at the hospital.

dont soak it in water......lol
i tried to wash theses little bugs off it and soaked it in water alittle to much but doesnt spray a true mist

patience

I was frustrated with it when i was first trying to figure it out. Then i tinkered with it and adjusted all of the nozzles and it works completely to my satisfaction now. I go to school and work fulltime so it's very nice to know that my cham is getting a nice shower every 3 hours without my being there! The one i have sprays a nice mist for 15 seconds giving the basking spot a nice rinse for 15 seconds!

The Habba Mist is a good way to keep the humidity up, but don't rely on it to mist your cham adequatly. A chameleon needs to be misted at least a few minutes in a row for it to get what it needs out of the mist. I know with my male he wont start cleaning his eyes until about 4 minutes into the mist. The longest you can set a Habba mist for is 1 minute. I personally spray my chameleons by hand with a garden spray thing, and in one misting they get about three times as much water that the Habba mist holds (Once I save up some $ I will be investing in an automatic sprayer). I bought the Habba Mist a couple years back but my male was afraid of it and then I learned it wasn't an adequate water supply so now it is sitting in my closest with all my other impulse buys. I am not bashing on the Habba Mist, because I know some people that have them and the cham will actually run up to it and drink once it turns on. But I think they advertise it as being the sole water source for the animals and IMHO it isn't sufficient for a chameleons needs. But that is just my 2 cents, not that it is worth much :)
