Zoo Med Repti Tree Bad Smell?

I purchased the Zoo Med Repti Tree and it was fine the first day I got it. I have a Repti Fogger and i had it on all day while i was at work, and I came back home and it smelt like weed, I know it sounds bad but its honestly what it smelt like. I think it's because it got wet from the Repti Fogger and it was causing it to set off scents of some sort. I took out the tree tonight and sure enough the smell is completely gone. It's really disappointing because I want to leave the tree in the cage because IT'S SO COOL! Anyone else been through this lol or can anyone shed some light on my situation.. -Rs

The fogger being on all day is giving no time for the branch to dry off. Having a constant wet surface and shade could spore out some mold so be careful with that. Try set the fogger at intervals of periods like 2-3hours and place the branch directly underneath the basking bulb.

Let the branch dry from the water, cracker dry. Sand it down and try again in the above method. See how that works.

If it continues to persist repeat the drying process and cover with a fine layer of varnish and let air/dry out properly.
