I’m saving up for the Zoo Med ReptiBreeze LED XL size. Do any of you guys like this cage?

I have thought of the regular reptibreeze. I only wanted the LED for the plants. The Zen look more well build.Hi. Personally I don’t think it’s worth it. The clear acrylic door is nice, but the led lights offer no benefit and colored lights are not good for sensitive chameleon eyes. I was just made aware in another thread that Chewy has the plain XL ReptiBreeze on sale at a decent price. https://www.chewy.com/zoo-med-reptibreeze-reptile-cage/dp/344873 I prefer the very similar DIY enclosure. https://www.diycages.com/collection...ducts/sc4-48x24x24-jumbo-vertical-screen-cage It’s almost identical to ReptiBreeze, but is a bit sturdier. Recently another member posted about their Repti Zoo enclosure and I really like the look of it. https://www.amazon.com/REPTI-ZOO-Fo...cphy=9011825&hvtargid=pla-2203473442533&psc=1 I believe the front door is clear acrylic. There are other options as well that imho are better values than the LED ReptiBreeze. Zen has some nice solid enclosures. https://www.zenhabitats.com/collections/zen-habitats-reptile-enclosures?filter.p.m.my_fields.sizes=2'x2'x4'+/+120+gal&filter.p.m.my_fields.ideal_for_panther_chameleon_=Panther+Chameleon&filter.v.price.gte=&filter.v.price.lte=&sort_by=manual I have one for my bearded dragon and love it. Another option is Dragon Strand, which is a hybrid and has dragon ledges included which make hanging plants and branches so much easier. https://dragonstrand.com/
just note you want to watch your screws in the reptibreeze. They will rust out. There is a difference in quality. Basically it comes down to materials used. Along with the other items you get such as drain pan with screen floor and ledges to mount branches and plants. Granted both of these can be bought separately from Dragon Strand. But then your back to the materials and longevity of the actual cage.I would spend whatever it takes to give my pets the best life. That being said:
Reptibreeze - $70.00
Reptizoo - $320.00
Dragon Strand - $650.00 with shipping
I can’t justify spending 4X on a Reptizoo or 9X on a screened Dragon Strand.
These are screened enclosures with latches to keep the doors closed. Even crickets can’t escape from my Reptibreeze. If you want dragon ledges, get dragon ledges but I’ve been following Neptune the Chameleon’s method for setting up cages and it works perfectly.
Unless I am going larger than 24” x 24” x 48”, the $ isn’t justified.
People talk about cages being “sturdy”. And I say, sturdy for what? These are chameleons, not buffalo. And screens are screens. So if you’re talking about sturdy frame, again…for what?
Maybe it just comes down to aesthetics. Form, not function. The dragon strand is probably nicer to look at.
I don’t understand how the screen floor is helpful. You still have to remove the screen and spray the stuck poop off it, right? It just eliminates poop soup?just note you want to watch your screws in the reptibreeze. They will rust out. There is a difference in quality. Basically it comes down to materials used. They have multiple options for venting. Just depends on what he is designing for. He builds them for the species rather than having one option.I don’t think Tamura enclosures create a good enough chimney effect for air exchange without adding PC fans. But I don’t have one so I don’t know. They are beautiful though.
Well I have dealt with a few situations of a cham climbing the door and losing its grip. Rather than fall and hit a solid bottom they bounce on the screen. Also yes it separates the cham from the nasty water. Which at one point or another they are going to travel every part of their cage including the bottom. This keeps them from walking in the yuck.I don’t understand how the screen floor is helpful. You still have to remove the screen and spray the stuck poop off it, right? It just eliminates poop soup?
I can buy nickel plated screws for a few bucks.
