Zoo Med Reptisun LED UVB Terrarium Hood T5 High Output

I saw a new 24 inch Zoo Med Reptisun LED UVB Terrarium Hood For about $100 I'm pretty sure I'm going to get it. It comes with a reptisun 5.0 uvb I was thinking of changing that to a 10.0 Since I'll be using it on a 24x24x48 cage with a bunch of plants in it. Just wanted to hear any thoughts on it or suggestions of anything better in the same price range or cheaper. Here is Ashley Rademacher talking about it.

Have you bought it yet? You might look at Light Your Reptiles before ordering to compare. Their light fixtures are excellent quality and the Arcadia bulbs are equally wonderful. I have a double fixture with a 6% Arcadia and a 6500k grow light. I had upgraded from the standard T8 bulbs and the light quality difference was unbelievable. Plus LYR has great customer service.

I have looked into LYR I know of their superior customer service and quality products but I can find nothing on LYR that compares in price and features to this. the LED and UVB combo is awesome I would only have to replace the UVB about once a year. The quad tropic blaze is the closest to what I'm looking for, but cost a lot more and I would have to replace 4 bulbs a year so the Reptisun LED UVB Terrarium Hood is cheaper initially and in upkeep also (I gots budgets).

I second that! I almost gone the same thing today and LYR came into mind so I didn't. A review would be greatly appreciated!

I bought it and it does NOT put out enough light for our chameleon needs, it's better in a short terrarium, I bought it before I knew about LYR and I regret it, I was trying to make my cage less cluttered especially up top but I ended up having to use more lights to make up for the poor light out out from the zoomed light system, it's very fragile as well, the plastic covering the LEDs cracked when I pulled it out the box

I bought it, I like it. Lots of light, slim design. You can replace the 5.0 layer with a lyr tube.

I have the 24" one as well. I have only turned it on once to make sure everything works.. The LEDs lit up my large screen cage nicely.

Nope, I haven't observed any flickering.

I have one of these hoods. Awesome light! it comes with 3 different lighting modes for plant growth if you have real plants, moon light (probably shouldn't be used for chams) regular led light and a UVB tube light. I combine this light with a double fixture with basking and a second uvb just to maximize lighting in the cage. Works well and I think I paid about 125.00 for mine. Definitely suggest this light for your set up!
