Can anyone recommend a basking light that lasts? I'm on my 3rd 75w Repti Basking Spot light in two months. Don't know why they keep blowing......

Just use a regular household bulb. There is no need to buy a special bulb. Save yourself some money.

Basking light bulbs are a waste of money I just use standard light bulbs put out just as much heat and are 1$ at the dollar store

Yes. All you are really wanting from the basking bulb is heat, and many types of household bulbs produce heat (except cfls). I use outdoor halogen spotlights because they are sturdy and last a long time. Just measure the temps at the basking branch to determine how far off the cage top to hang the fixture.
