She seems to have some debris or something in her eyes. A good vet with good experience with chameleons should be able to determine what it is and flush it out if needed. She is very pretty btw. 🥰

So it's male or female? I'm very suspicious, he doesn't have the behavior of a male. My mom will put it in a chameleon Facebook group.

Are these too small?

This was his girlfriend before and after she developed her big girl colors and patterns. Your girl has for some unknown reason an unusually large casque. This is typically seen in girls who have been spayed, which is why I suspect maybe yours has a hormonal difference.

What does "hormonal difference" mean? Sorry, I'm slow 😂
She may have a higher than normal level of the male hormone, testosterone or a lower than normal of the female hormone, estrogen. I don’t want to call it a problem, condition or anything like that because the only problem it seems to be causing is difficulty in figuring out girl or boy. 😂 And again, this is just what I suspect could be why she has some male characteristics. It could be genetic and all of the females in her family line have larger casques. I only know that she is lacking the colors/patterns of males and even though she does have some tiny spurs, the small size of them combined with colors makes me believe female.

I have no idea. I’m not a vet…just a nurse for humans. :) It won’t hurt anything at all to treat her like a female. I feed all of my chameleons the same that I feed my girls to decrease their egg production. The only differences in their care is I keep my boys a little bit warmer at 85 and my girls have permanent lay bins in their enclosures.

How much do you feed your female chams? And how often? So the less or more they eat, the less likely they are to lay eggs?
