Intestinal Parasites are common in chameleons and other reptiles. Wild caught chameleons have a reputation of having intestinal parasites..although this is true , parasites can effect Captive bred as well as Wild caught Chameleon.
A chameleon may have parasites but not show any symptoms...
I'm always trying to find these links for people. Now anyone who is interested in knowing more about Jacksons chameleons can find them here.

There are a number of ways to transport your chameleon to reduce stress. Whenever your chameleon needs to go in the car to the vet, or when you're moving, it can be nerve-wracking to make sure they are going to be okay during the stressful journey. Though chameleons have specific long term needs...
Welcome to another installment of our World Chameleon Species Tour! Today we are in the Cameroon highlands with Trioceros pfefferi.
Natural History:
Trioceros pfefferi is a small size chameleon around the size of a carpet chameleon. It is listed as living between 1100m to 1900m by the IUCN...
I free range my chameleons so I really have to pay close attention to when it’s time to lay eggs. I think one of the most important things is to have a gram scale and weigh her once a week. If she's gaining and you are still feeding the same amount of food then I figure she must have eggs. You...

Thinking about getting a chameleon? Awesome! They're awesome pets, and it's a great hobby to get into. However, they're tricky to keep, very sensitive to a lot of things, and a lot can go wrong if you're not willing to put in the research, money, and time.
My husband and I just purchased...
My personal notes on chameleon care.
Noob test: I ask all noobs to buy a cricket keeper and 50 or so crickets. Try to keep them alive for a month focusing on gut loading watering and weekly cleaning.
Crickets
I use 4 large smokey clear plastic bins. The insides of the bin need to...
For the past 2 weeks, I've been giving Oliver the opportunity to free range. I would leave the cage door open, and put a branch leading to the FR, for 4+ hours.
He never even seemed interested. I tried everything from putting worms on the branch leading to the FR, showing him his feeding...
Derp made it to Louisiana safe and sound today! He's been quite the delight so far. I had him shipped to my parents' house since my apartment complex has a problem with losing packages, I unboxed him there and let him ride home with me in a small bird carrier. He decided he was going to hang...
I have seen little on the topic of skin cancer in chameleons on the forums or online in general, so I thought I'd write my long story here for those interested. I also thought I'd include the costs involved in this situation as there was definitely some sticker shock along the way and regardless...
Like many others on here, I'm hoping to keep a blog to document my sweet little baby as he grows. His arrival date is set for the morning of August 20th. I couldn't be more beside myself with excitement and anxiety (the good kind).
The Chameleon Farm will always receive glowing recommendations...
This is been our first week together and so far he's been adjusting quite nicely. It hasn't been without it's stress for the little guy but from what I can tell he's starting to lighten up, literally. He seems to be very active, he's gotten used to the rain dome and actually goes and sits...
I got him from Kammerflage Kreations two days ago. He was hatched late April/early may and I love the little guy more than I expected! First a little about Snodgrass, he is an ambanja, dad is Grimbold and grandpa on his moms side is Marach. I'm keeping him in the beginner cage from Kammerflage...

Every few of months I make up a batch of dry gutload to feed (alongside fresh vegetables and fruit) to crickets, roaches, superworms, terrestrial isopods, snails and sometimes grasshoppers. I occasionally share the mix here since forum members have many times indicated they find it...
Sandra's Gutload recipes as everyone knows are fantastic but the biggest problem I have is finding half the stuff on the Dry list maybe because I'm a guy and I don't have that female shopping instinct and you sure know I'm not about to ask for directions on how to get to it. So I decided to...
So it was asked if I was still using the same supplementing schedual for my quads, and I thought I should include the response here.
I still very much like the repashy CP but have found that the levels of vit d and vit A are still a little too high. ( reg repashy cal plus formula )

Prey intake diary of my adult male panther chameleons, July 2013. All prey is gutloaded except the wild caught moths, although the grasshoppers and butterworms didnt eat much.
Supplements, when used, are also noted. “50-50 mix” means I take a spoonful of Mineral-O (the vitamin free calcium...
This is daily a log of what my ~2 month old veiled consumed in July 2013. He was typically given as much as he could eat within about 5 minutes, once or twice a day. Prey is listed in the order in which it was offered and eaten.
The cockroaches are small –medium size. The superworms are...
So I have seen a lot of question lately about the nutritional value of the feeders we are using or wanting to see a comparison of certain feeders so I took some time and created this chart so that you can have all this information right in front of you. There maybe some slight errors because I...
This is a superworm.
Specifically, they are the larvae of the "darkling beetle".
How to house them
Step 1
Superworms can be kept in practically anything. I've gotten away with keeping them in tupperware.
Here is a picture list of containers you may keep superworms in.

I wish I could post some more pictures of Oliver, but sadly, I lost my camera's charger. Luckily we found a cheap one on amazon that we ordered! So hopefully I will be able to share some pics soon. :)
So today as usual, I went in at 2:45 (usually 2:30, but I wanted to finish eating lunch), and tried to hand feed (not so) little Oliver. He seemed REALLY interested in the worm I was holding, so I held it there a little longer than usual (about 6-7 minutes). He just kept staring at it so I...
