The common 3 are already amazing chams. A Boehmei btw isn’t any different then a Jackson’s. They practically live in the same area. But, don’t let them trick you with their size. They could thrive in a 18x18x36 enclosure, however they’re soooo active that I feel they need also 24x24x48. I find this species absolutely fantastic and thinking of breeding them, Ranjo has some good genes. But, I don’t won’t to contribute in the chameleon world. In the hands of good keeper, they’ll have a beautiful, and then there’s…….

I feel you. that’s really good to know. I am noticing that the more uncommon species some may have similar husbandry to a panther or a Jackson’s. I just don’t feel ready quite yet, because I still have so many questions about the ones I do have. Regardless, I would love to have my Chameleons in as large of enclosures as I can do. Currently, all of my chameleons are in the minimum cage size for an adult chameleon but once I get my reptile room set up, my next steps will be upgrading all of them to double the size of enclosure and creating a free range for them to enjoy as well.
For me it was a complete new experience when we went for free range. And if circumstance are good, I can only recommend it. But, you can’t have dogs, cats or small children. Then it’s a complete hazard for the chams. Our chameleon room is also our office, therefore we got all day long interaction with them when we work at home.
