i would go for the crickets, there smaller prey and spend more time on the ground.
In locust they will lose intrest after some time + de legs of the locust are not good for the transit.
Always clean your enclosure well, take out dead prey daily, they are a paradise for germs.

i'm trying to get an average weight and lenght of this species.

Thats what the male seems to have, you can see the inside of the horn.
He doesn't seem to bother eater.
Here they rub against the glass of the terrarium when there digging.
It is an activity that they do for quite some time during the day.
Temp is good so i don't blame the heat or so...

i have a male and his both horns are demaged it apears that it is no a wound
but you can see that the horn is sort of open.

Have my male for almost a year now he eats what he wants usually 2-3 crickets every 2 days or so. his weight is around the same every month between 61g and 68g.
