I'm trying really small hornworms. i let him have 1 in his enclosure, now I only offer them from my hand. Been trying for about a week and he hasn't taken it yet but he doesn't run away anymore so I take that as progress. I think it just takes patience!
It's nice to know I'm "normal" or at least not alone in my "abnormalness"! I've had sick reptiles, rescues that I nursed back to health, other babies (snakes, cresties, gargoyles) but I never stressed this much! Maybe because they are so tiny and adorable and fragile looking!:)
Do you ever relax & not constantly worry about your cham? I am new to chams but not new to reptiles. I recently lost a new little boy veiled and since have gotten another one. In comparison, I kind of think my first one wasn't all that healthy. He did not eat nearly as much as my current one...
Thank you for everyone who offered tips on the care of my last baby veiled, but he did not make it.
I found a breeder in my area and have gooten more advice and another little veiled. Here is Monroe....

I remembered my friend was working emergency tonight ( a vet) and he sees herps! Took my baby over there and he will see what he can do to save him! Keep your fingers crossed please
I posted yesterday that my little one was not doing well. He seemed better last night but today when I got home from work he was laying on the bottom of the cage looking half dead! He won't drink even if I drip it on his nose, he seems very weak and "out of it" - he tries to climb when there is...
Got home from work today and he was on the bottom of the tank looking half dead! He has no strenght. I tried to drip water into his mouth but he wouldn't drink. I think he will be gone soon. Is there anything I can do? He looked so much better last night
I had a heat lamp on him originally but kept reading that they like it cooler so I took it off
He actually looks a little better after sitting under the warmth, he has moved away and walking around with his eyes open now! He wouldn't open them before. WOW I hope that was all it...
