Good news guys so he ate and his tongue shot out and did great. Should I still go to the vet or no? I think @JacksJill was right and he was dehydrated because he drank about 10 min before he ate and his tongue worked great right now.
@JacksJill okay I will keep you guys posted. If this happens tomorrow I will be going back to the vet to rule out anything sinister. @snitz427 Yea I know needless to say I was pretty furious that they charged me that much maybe because it was last minute but still that seemed quite Egregious.
a couple days ago he escaped out of his cage for about 20 minutes and I found him under my cabinet. I took him to the vet today and now im waiting for test results from his fecal. And that costed around 126 dollars but I did not get a check up should I go back for a check up or no?
Hello, I have a 4 1/2 month old young Jacksons chameleon and I just took him to the vet for his first parasite check today, and in the morning he shot his tongue out and got the Crickets and super worm just fine but right now I fed him and he shot his tongue out barley maybe like an inch and...
Okay forsure, I am going to go to Home Depot to get a new light for him, but before im gonna look around my house in case I have one laying around. I live in LA so its getting pretty warm lol.
So today my Jackson Chameleons Basking spot was a bit hot (84.9 F) and he is just a juvenile and was gaping so I think I need to lower the wattage of my light bulb. Right now I have a 45 w Flood Light from Home Depot I was thinking of reducing it to a 40 w or a 35, and switching back to the 45 W...
Also I would remove the substrate and keep the bottom bare or use something like reptile carpet or newspaper, loose substrate can cause impaction in reptiles.
And don't use the Flukers Orange Cube they don't provide nutrients kind of just keep the crickets alive gutload with dark leafy greens and I personally use carrots and apples and oranges.
Since he is wild caught Parasites could be an issue, so I would get him checked asap. Also you need to get a thermometer asap as well and 75 degrees is good for ambient temperature but basking should be in the 80-82 degree range (for juveniles) and a higher for adults I'd say mid 80s like...

@salty dog Yea I have noticed that in his old cage he had his whole routine set up, Wake up, drink, hang out for about an hour, eat, bask, walk around the top of his cage and then go down into the middle and kinda climb around and then bask before he went to bed. I will just monitor him and make...
I will monitor him. Thank you for the heads up, in the meantime I will look for replacements for the bamboo. I was thinking about another Parlor Palm they look really nice but there just so expensive.
Another member on here suggested the Bamboo on another form I was reading and said it was okay for a Jacksons but I will definitely monitor that and if he acts weird then im gonna remove it. Thank you im a bit of a perfectionist and at first I always hate the enclosure but it grows on me after I...
