I don't know why I still post on this site. Doesn't seem that anyone is willing to help out anyone on here unless they know each other. I know I am new to chameleons, but I would like to find out as much as I can and who better to learn from than you guys who have all the experience and knowledge.
I am also in jhb and my temps in my incubator is staying constant at 26-27 degrees celsius. I have a homemade incubator and it is working fine for me at the moment
I don't know if it feels like rubber, they are just harder than when they were laid. The temps are between 26 and 27 degrees celsius and the substrate is moist.
Thanks again guys, but no need to get so heated on the subject. I am new to this that is why I need some help here, but like I said the eggs are growing and for that reason I don't think that they are infertile, but I have no experience so I don't know. You guys who have done this before know...
thanks for the advise and comments guys, as for throwing the eggs away no chance of that! I know they are fertile cause my chams mated at least three times that I saw so unless the male is shooting blanks they are fertile. I think it is the humidy and maybe the incubation material is infected...
They are so adorable. I can't wait for my babies to hatch, but I still have a long way to go. My egg are only two weeks old today so a very long wait still for me, but hopefully mine are as cute as yours! Congrats!
Thanks guys!I am also glad this part is over and now I know that Peggy is going to be fine, but now the waiting starts again to see what happens with the eggs. They all look very good and healthy so I am keeping my fingers crossed. I will try to upload a pic of her, but the last time I tried...
My female veiled laid her eggs yesterday. She is doing good and looking fine. I got her out of the laying bin and gave her water and food and then dug up the eggs. She laid 58 eggs so now it is the waiting game to see if they are going to hatch.
Thanks miss Lily! I took the spray bottle and sprayed a bit more where she was digging and it worked she started laying her eggs in the hole and as I am typing this she is still busy laying. Looks like I have about 50 eggs at the moment, but will post the final tally when she is done and I dug...
Things are going good with her now. You guys scared me with the talk of moving her while in the process of laying, but luckily it turned out good. She started digging a hole in the laying bin this morning and she is still digging, but just one thing concerns me. She goes to the hole digs, but...
Got a surprise today when I got home from work and discovered that Peggy has started to lay eggs. No warning that she was close or anything. She was still eating yesterday and this morning before I left for work she was still sitting up in the top of the branches.
I moved her over to her...
I just want to find out, my veiled female is shedding now and I suspect that she is close to laying her eggs. I just want to know is it a sign that the laying is close if she is shedding or is she just shedding cause it is time to shed?
