my veiled likes to eat dirt whenever he sees it .. so i wouldn't be able to do dirt on the bottom. Too much trouble too, if your chameleon eats leaves off the plant.
i switch plants every now and then to keep em fresh in the cage, if they were planted it would be impossible.

I have a schlefera (if thats how you spell it), pothos, and some fake stuff to fill in the gaps.
I recently made the mistake of putting in a money tree without checking its toxicity, and i ran into a thread that they might be.. So i took it out of the enclosure..
Well i suppose i could leave it in his enclosure, but there are mixed feelings on this plant so it will stay out..dont want to risk it.

Ok so i made the mistake of putting a money tree in my veileds enclosure. It was in the cage for about 3-4 weeks..
I removed it today after stumbling onto a thread where a few members stated that that plant is toxic.
My chameleon did eat a few leaves, but his behavior seems normal still, only...
i feed him silkies every couple days..and the occasional house fly.
he does seen to roam his territory a lot more..
he eats great though and his behavior seems normal.
il try cup feeding again in the future but i doubt he'l give up the hunt ..haha
