Should I remove my real plants for now?

I went ahead and removed the real plants for right now just to test it out and about 30 mins after removing the plants he ate a few crickets. I think the crickets where hiding in the plants and now there easier for him to spot. I'm going to see how it works out with out the real plants for right...

Should I remove my real plants for now?

I've had my 3 to 4 month old panther for 2 weeks now and he likes hiding in his Schefflera most of the day and hardly comes up to the top and isn't eating much. There's also a pothos in his cage. The basking temperature is between 82-85 degrees. The lights come on at 7am and go off at 8pm. He...

About How old does my female veiled look.

Thanks!:) So I guess I should let her eat all she wants for a few more months before backing off to say 6 to 8 crickets every other day and keeping her temps in the low 80's. I just want to slow her down from laying eggs and a small clutch if she does. She eats like a little piggy right now like...

Is it Possible to use mini CFL's for basking?

Thank you for the response. The mini CFL's would only be temporary though the summer until it starts to cool back down. I just wanted to give them a little extra light with the CFL's with out the extra heat. Looks like in the future the only bulbs we will even be able to buy will be the CFL's as...

Is it Possible to use mini CFL's for basking?

My temps have been running higher then I like over the past few days since the summer heat has kicked in full force. I was using a 40 watt regular bulb and then switched to a 25 watt fish aquarium bulb but it's still running in the high temp range in the afternoon. I have a few regular mini...

Crickets climbing screen after putting them in the cage

Thank you both for the great tips! I really appreciate it and it sounds like a good plan. I think I read on here that someones cham took almost 5 days before he finally stated to eat. So hopefully in a few days his appetite will be better once he gets used to his new cage and surroundings.

Crickets climbing screen after putting them in the cage

Thank you bocaJan, I see you're from Boca, I just moved from Lake worth last summer up here to Knoxville TN. I'm moving back down to Lake Worth in November so I think the chameleon will like it down there in the warmer climate. I'll have to try to cup feed. I'll have to read up a little bit to...

Double checking to make sure I received a male panther

Thank you, That's reassuring to know. He's hasn't eating to much in the past few days since I've received him. I've seen him eat 3 crickets the first day and 1 today. I also saw him lick the branch for water so I think he is staying hydrated. I Hope his appetite pick's up in a few more day's or so.

Double checking to make sure I received a male panther

I received him yesterday from screameleons and they said he is almost a 4 month old male sambava panther born on 2-22-12. Does he look like a male and does he almost look 4 months old? He looks on the small side to be almost that age from looking at other picture's on the forum
