Are hornworms ok for chams? I've never tried them, only used them for my Bearded Dragon but, they are huge. How many would you feed a full grown male panther cham? 180g Hmmmmmm It seems like if they would be OK, i.e. not poisenous, they would be a good feeder. I don't know anything about...
I would also recomend ditching the Q-tip cleaning and using a clean syringe to flush the gunk out of the eye. Or if you want to use Q-tips, I know sometimes you might have to work at the crust to get it to come off, you can get those individually packaged ones from a medical supply store...
Those are very informative articles. Now I am interested in going home to count the lg scales on the flaps of chameleons. I honestly didn't know they were that closely related!!
Thanks for the info!
Specifically I am looking for Ch. (T.) werneri I had also heard them refered to as Flapjack or Pronto Three-horned but these could be misnomers on my part as I'd only heard these names at reptile shows and have never really been able to back them up with literary references. Therefore I dunno...
Is there anybody out there that is selling/breeding Werner's chameleons anymore? I need males to add to my breeding stock but can't seem to find any. Just three of four monthes ago they were everywhere now I don't know what happened! Anybody out there know where I could pick up a...
This is really intriging and kind of scary. Too much and we hurt them too little and we hurt them. I would be interested in the full article their research sounds illuminating.
A full week later I can tell everyone that not only was it a bruise but, she is also gravid!!! :D Yeah we are dancing around at our house! Hopefully whatever caused the bruise did not affect he clutch but, we will have to keep our fingers crossed for now. :o I was sitting with her the other...
Some Random Advice / Hope it helps
Often where you may live, i.e. country, city, or state may affect where the best places are for you to buy supplies. I don't think any one meant any offense by asking where you live it was just a question to get you pointed in the right direction. I have...
Updated pic.
You can see the black triangle of concern in this pic although you can also see a lot of other black as she is very pissed that I had to move her to take the picture.
Is she gravid?
Very good question!! I don't know. I have had her with a Sambava male but, I never observed any breeding or courtship between the two...granted I wasn't there ALL the time they were together but, they sure didn't seem interested when I was. Second point, because she was a WC...
The question is in the title. I have pygmi, panther, jackson, and werni and am very interested in expanding my small home buisness to include Melleri breeding. My husband has already started the "open roaming greenhouse project" for them despite my insistance that I haven't decided to get them...
To answer your question yes, that is her normal color aside from the fact that she's a little pissed in that pic about being photographed and that the photo is fuzzy. Aside from the drk triange she is usually a pleasent pinkish salmon color with drk brown/blk markings when she gets pissed and...
See that was my initial thought too....bruise.....but, I also though it would have faded by now.... But, who's to know... If there is an overreacting syndrome involving pets and their owner's concern I am the posterchild. As for the picture my camera is now in three pieces as I am attempting...
My female Sambava, Yolie, recently developed a drk brownish to blk spot on her left side.....it is perplexing to me and my veterinarian. It appeared this past Wed. as a tiny brown spot that was not part of her regular patterning. I thought it might be a bruise of somtype but, it did not...
I'm very interested
Is there a particular reason you won't ship? I'd gladly take him on and pay for the shipping. I've got two spare Reptariams right now as I just seperated my Ambanja babies sold off my Werner's babies. So long story short I've got PLENTY of room at the inn and I'm always...
Thank you so much!! I appreciate all the support! I will continue to mist him regularly but, the impression I'm getting is that this is a normal thing for older chams. So.....I will take three deep breaths...I get over stressed just like my scaly babies sometimes.
My two year old male Panthar has started to shed in sections the past two times. I was concerned the first time as it started with his feet and tail and proceeded to his body but he never seemed to shed the area surrounding the crown of his head. My vet said it was probably humidity related as...
