OK,
first of all, I think I understand what you mean to say when you say they don't have "personalities", in that their subjective lives are so different from our own that our projection of emotions and feelings that are strictly mammalian (happy, angry, jealous, whathaveyou), are exactly...
Thanks for your replies,
Burnedrose, your jackson's sound very cute, I always thought they looked like fun, my love for dinosaurs as a little kid has always had me thinking about getting my own little "treeceratops"
Eisentraut, clearly you didn't read my post and do not care to understand...
Hey there,
So there's a big reptile expo coming to Toronto in a couple weeks, and I plan to get myself a Panther chameleon as for localities I'm really not sure, I love them all! But I can be swayed further from Panther as well if you give me a good story.
I'm gonna be honest, I've seen...
Thank you all for the replies!!
Thanks Laurie!!! The food bait idea is wonderful, and could at least put me at ease with his eating if they start disappearing too, hahaha, I'll pick up some worms asap!
He definitely has access to his "enclosure" it's quite open with ropes coming down into...
It is now the fourth day, and I'm running out of ideas. I'm distraught.
It was 1:00pm, Saturday, I sat down with my girlfriend to watch a movie, he seemed explorative and quickly crawled up my hand when I was near him, so I stuck him on the big schefflera in my living room as we watched.
I...
Hi, I'm upping from a CFB to a linear tube for my ambilobe as I've heard they can cause eye problems.

My girlfriend has a Senegal chameleon called Pyjamas. Something like 9 months old, She's really sweet, and will climb on the front of the cage when she would like to come out.
She can even turn a very nice chocolate brown when she's asleep.
Those chevrons have only appeared occasionally...

EDIT: Sorry that's for the last expo (May 29), but I imagine a lot of the same will return
I'm actually planning to do something similar, I'd like to know anyone else's experience with this too
I'm considering upping to a 10.0 reptisun tube to ensure the plants get enough light as well... Any word? or are they just toooo much UVB for a panther cham???
I caved and ordered a...
I'll tell you this
Once I played this youtube video of a chameleon hissing really loud. Clementine DEFINITELY heard it.
Moral of the story: I should buy a camera.
I love these expos, if its anything like north of the border (I know there's one in Toronto on sunday the 24th -- its actually done in a rented out hockey rink hehe), maybe a lot are the same vendors?
I got Clementine there, my BB ambilobe, managed to haggle too (and I got real lucky and...
Wow thanks everyone for all the wicked info!! Icegecko! Yeah you've been a fantastic source of information for all this, your posts are detailed and thought out, thank you!!
And yeah you're right, looks like BOTH is clearly the best way to go haha.
Looks like I'll be gettin a Dubia colony...
So I've researched and researched on roaches lately, I've wanted to start a Dubia colony as it appears many fellow cham owners on the forums love these.
But the last few days I've been looking at the P. Nivea - Green Banana roach.
You know, it's not even the sound that crickets make, I...
Well, at least keep an eye out for reptile expos if you cant find anything in stores or online. Lots of amateur breeders there, last one I went to around Toronto had plenty of pretty little Jacksons, and there you can possibly get a nice price too.
a quick googling show'd me this...
Hah!!!!
OOoooOOoohhhh boyyyy. well then...
Yeahhh, as much as I try to stretch it, I think naturally we can all agree that its a girl's name and I've got some work to do again, haha.
Oh jeez and he's breeding it right on sight. lol, thanks Ace - that was actually my next question, but...
Heyy,
Clementine here is ~7-8 months old, I've had her for 2 of them. She seems happy with me I think (at this point she'll pretty gladly climb onto my hand every day or two). Got a nice big mesh enclosure (2'x3'x9'), plenty of light heat ventilation and humidity, everything is nicely on timers...
