Do you give your chameleon a calcium supplement?
What brand and size of UVB light do you have? How old is the bulb?
Is the lump on the underside or topside of the tail?
Im not to sure is it male of female? Do you have picture is around the lump a certain colour? Mite be worth going to a vet if you havent had cmthe cham that long in all fairness the shop should exchange if known to be unhealthy.
Hi. I just brought a ficus wich i think is prity good otherwise a devils ivy is also good how old is he? I think musafa is a good name lol wich il be calibg my next cham just a sugestion not everyones cup of tea. Hope this helps. :)

I would definetly say not to bother with the night lamp chameleons need to have cool tempatures when they sleep ive been told on here before so maybe stop useing that also the dark colours could most likely be his stress pattern....if the enclosure wasant new uv bulbs need replaceing after...

I dont get the feeling mine eats because food is there i hand feed mine an he usualy has 6-8 locusts a day il always offer a few more though just to be sure but he wont have them i dont think you can over feed
