Hi! I'm looking to buy a live plant (or two) for my three month old baby panther. I saw some info on recommended plants a while back and wrote down the nqme of a few but I can't seem to find that link again. I was going to head over to lowes today but I'm concerned about all of the pesticides they use. Could they harm him? Or is it fine? Thanks I'm advance for helping with er another silly question!

By they way... He is still nameless if anyone wants to throw some suggestions out there, otherwise he'll be a Huey:/

Hi. I'm new to the chameleon world too. Don't even have one yet! Haha. Mine is getting shipped this Thursday. But that being said I've been doing a lot of research myself.
I think the most common plants that are safe for chameleons are the weeping fig, umbrella tree, pothos plant, and hibiscus. And I read somewhere that it is recommended to re-pot your plant using all organic pesticide free soil if you get it from a hardware store.
Hope that helps.

P.S.
I'm naming my little monster Dexter.

Here is the list I use:

Regardless of where you purchase the plants, you should definitely wash them before using them. I replant in organic soil and cover the soil with large palm-sized stones.

You may want to wait a bit to get to know him before you name him... once you get to know him, you're sure to find a name that fits him perfectly. He's got great colors already! :)

Ficus is my favorite plant of choice. It handles all the misting and looks good. I also have 3 6500K (day light lights) in each cage for great visibility and plants need it if kept indoors. I

i agree with getting to know him and his personality before choosing a name :) its not like he minds very much, their hearing is much different then ours so he doesnt care if he waits a little while for you to find the perfect name for him!!! :D
he is a handsome little fella !

Im getting my lil guy this wednesday and actually just bought 2 plants this weekend. Bought a Pothos (viney plant) and an umbrella plant. I just bought a bag of top soil to replant in very cheap. Paid about $20 for both plants and soil combined. Naming my lil guy Dionysus
