I knew nothing about breeding these guys, so I jumped in the deep end so to speak! I didn't try, but apparently the lizards did... The vet hasn't looked at the eggs yet, it might hurt them to try to move them that far. She's seen pictures, though and she said last week that they are "windowing."
For babies, @Angelwolf? I think you're probably already pretty excited about them. It's so tempting to raise their temps a little bit so I can hold thems a little bit sooner, but I'm still resisting for their health's sake. Late April still :(
So it's the vet's best estimate of Meanie bean's first hatch day! She got waxworms for breakfast, just in case. And then I get this look - "Can you just not?"
They really are fun to watch! I got these guys when they were really tiny, but they seem to be keeping a lot of red. They're my little skitter bugs...
There are no words for my current jealousy level!
Thank you! I planted almost everything months in advance to let it fill out. It was supposed to be a dart frog viv, but once I met this little dude I couldn't put him down! So I brought him home and made a few adjustments for him.
@Andee has covered what care she needs, but her front leg looks just like my female's did when she had osteoarthritis. That requires lifelong liquid calcium to prevent irreparable joint damage. Dilly was treated very early on, and she still has mobility issues.
It was just safe outside time. We lived in Central Florida at the time, so there was an abundance of hibiscus bushes. I built their outside enclosure around a massive one, and it was their favorite place in the world... They had a little play pool in there, too but primarily used it for pooping in!
