reptile bark is a big no no.. If the chameleon swallows some he will become impacted

Everything you need to know about the jackson is in there..
I'd even cover the soil in the pots with large stones as well
Is the enclosure glass? of so I don't see any ventilation and UV light does not travel through glass.. If the lights are outside he will not be getting the UV light that he needs.. giving him calcium is a start but without proper UV lights he cannot process the calcium.
I've used grout for tiles on the foam, it works great. You don't need to use cement at all though, after your foam structure is formed, take a torch and lightly melt the foam, this will form a hard crust on it, then simply paint it the color you want your stone. the slightly melted foam crust...
Normal as in they will do it, the only thing is it bad for them.. It will lead to impaction that is not good.. Are you using the potting mix in a pot for a plant? or as a lining for the enclosure? If its in a pot for a plant, cover the soil with smooth stones, if its a liner for your enclosure...
from the looks of it it is vertical, the picture is just sideways.. Todd from light your reptiles suggested to me to use a 12% UV bulb for a 4' high cage, I'd say you would want a 10-12% as well
what are you using for a UVB bulb? basking bulb? what are the temps at the basking spot and near the bottom of the enclosure?
If thats a water dish at the bottom you need to remove it since the little fella could fall and drown in it. otherwise looks pretty good.. I'd add a little more foliage...
I have one chameleon and I order them in bulk 1000 at a time.. I have a large clear rubbermaid container that i put them in.. I use egg cartons and paper towel/toilet paper tubes to give them hiding spaces and more surface area.. I use two large lids from something like a peanut butter dish, one...
My thoughts exactly camimom. My panther gently sticks his tongue out on branches, me, vines, etc.. I'm starting to believe that it is like you said, he's "tasting" everything. I'd say it a way to verify his territory and make sure that there is no intruders on his turf
I was looking into switching the CFL fixtures with some T5 HO ones and was going to go with an Arcadia 6% T5 HO.. Would this suffice for a 22"27"48" enclosure with screen top? Or should I be looking at the 12%? Heard that the Arcadia lights were basically the best you can get and with the T5...
That is a great kit, you'll love the mistking system.. The price for everything in the kit seems fair.. You won't need your friends light since the kit comes with everything you need for UV and basking.. you can always try experimenting with it though if you like.
as far as the cage size it is...
My thoughts exactly Ninkylou.. I'm not trying to discourage you as well drm, Id just hate for you to get the little fella and then 2 months down the road have to give him up because he is ill or you can't afford him any more.. And like I said earlier in a different post, if this is your first...
