I was strongly thinking about a cross. I looked at all their babies and sires and love them all :) everytime I see your avatar pic I like think wow, that is an awesome chameleon lol. What locale is yours? Ambilobe? Because I don't see the "u" bar that sambavas have, also I really like that blue...
I am not able to decide what locale of panther I should get. I am going to purchase from kammerflage kreations and I like the blues and yellows and greens in the nosy be, but I like the yellows and orange/red, blues, greens ect of the sambava and likewise to the ambilobe. I also really like the...
I wish the 2x2x4 cages were like 50 bucks because I am tight on money. I am just gunna build my own cuz I have been like zoned out into space lost in thought thinking of. How I was going to build the cage step by step and I'm like 90% sure that it will work good. And I can get the supplies for...
What are the temps supposed to be? And I am sure that they will be alright for one more day. Chams will sleep in the dark so his metabolism and stuff will slow down. My biggest concern with shipping a reptile would be if it got tooooo hot for the little guy
I would deffinayely want a link to that site :D and. I think 1x2's at lowes are like 4 bucks at lowes in 8 foot long segments. So it'd be like 4 of those at the minimum to build a 24x24x48 inch cage. That's what I'm gunna end up doing. I can't find any cheaply priced screening anywhere online...
The reptisun 5.0 is what you should use for chameleons. Try to get the linear tube bulb and not the compact because the compact light can cause blindness. IMO means "in my opinion" at least I'm pretty sure that's what it means. I also think that it is good to let the cage dry out a good amount...
Looks pretty good. From what I can see you might want more vines and foliage. Throughout the whole cage. Other than that the only problem is the wait! Do you have a suppliment/ feeding schedule yet? And what to put in gutload?
Hey I get out tommorrow at 12:30 too!! Gunna go out to michigan to see family for two weeks (so nervous that the chamsitter I have aka my stepdad won't do the right stuff) gunna detassle for two or so weeks then work on the farm, get a new chameleon!! Friends, bonfires. Lots of things lol
My first cham was a male veiled but he died from the furnace breaking then breaking again and somehow turning alll the ay up so that the house was like 100f and inside the cage was like idek because the thermometer guage was maxed out at like 120f :( so sad when I got home to see his little body...
Yes it is all new items. So now the painstaking decision on whether I wanna get another veild, a jacksons, or a panther. I'm probably gunna end up geting an ambilobe from kammerflage kreations though :D or one of their crosses
Well you state what's on your mind which is good. But live animal compared to a vehicle are different. I mean a ten cent copy of a care sheet and a chance the reptile will have a more informed owner is a no brainer to me JMO
Asking someone why they love their chameleon is like asking someone why they love their family or their child. And all the reasons you said, they say a million words without making a sound. And it seems to me almost that my cham almost has a personlike personality. They are like a bestfriend in...
I was too. I would have loved to have been given a care sheet and references to site when I first got my chameleon though. I mean, I'm sure there are some reptile owners that just think the pet store's advice is 100% on and don't worry about researching. And on a side note, it would actually be...
It was just an idea so that it would maybe help new chameleon owners know the basics through doing research before they purchase the cham. I want to be a veterinarian for reptiles when I get out of highschool/college because that's what I'm aiming for. And if I ever in the far far far future...
I was not in any way implying I knew even close to everything about even one species of chameleons. But I was just saying that it would be reassuring to all of us that if before someone purchased a cham they filled out a thing. That asked what the reccomended basking temps or cage size or...
