Thank you so much for the information. I am planning to have a large custom cage for him/her, just wondering if you suggest to keep the baby in a smaller enclosure for the first 6months to a year? By smaller I am thinking 2'x2'x4'?
I appreciate your reply, I have been told that you dont NEED to put your Parsons through brumation unless you are breeding. In your experience is this correct? I would prefer not to put them through it until they are older if at all. I dont want to put any extra stress on a baby.
This is Awesome! I never really thought about doing this. I was a little worried, in Oct I am getting a Parsons and they require a LOT more water than my current panther and I dont want to create an RI situation but need to get them the moisture and hydration they require.
I have a 7' tall enclosure and my umbrella tree goes all the way to the top, I dont have plants hit the top directly under my basking bulb. One the plants get to hot and would die anyways but the other reason is I dont my cham to be able to get to close to the basking lamp and burn himself. If...
I love feeding Black Soldier fly larvae, my chameleon loves them and they are high in calcium so need to dust them at all just feed as they are. Once they turn black they are starting their process turning into a fly. Once they hatch into a fly, my chameleon loves to hunt down a few flies. I...
What. I do with my panther is take some of his favorite treats put them on my forearm and reach out my hand close to him. My cham is very food motivated so he will walk on my hand to get to his treat. I realized that if I took another hand and moved it behind him his eyes move in all directions...
@jamest0o0 and I have been talking about this already. Just wondering if anyone else has more information. These amazing chameleons deserve the best life possible and I would like to get as much information as I can consume.
yes, just keep them in that. I don't rinse them, pull them out I let them crawl around for a second and the sand falls off. My panther is a cup feeder so once they have shaken the sand off I put them in his cup to eat, the sand doesn't stay attached all that much because they are dry not wet/slimy.
I always see my panther sleeping head down just like this. He has a giant cage (3'x3'x7') with a giant umbrella tree and large pathos and he still picks the weirdest sleeping positions.
So when I get mine from Dubiaroaches.com I keep them in that container. I keep them in my basement(where my chameleon is) the room temp is a little lower just because its below ground so they stay in the larvae stage a little longer. I dont feed them and you dont need to dust they are a great...
I will be getting a White lip Parsons in October(end of the month) wondering about Brumation. Plan will be to keep him/her outside during the summer months (I live in South Dakota) and inside during our winter months. What temps/lighting/water/vitamins are people giving during this winter...
You have to go to their worm section and I believe they call them soldier fly larvae and nutrigrubs, they are all the same thing. I order 100 at a time and let my little guy eat the flies as well.
I always purchase all my feeders including BSFL from dubiaroaches.com. The shipping is fast, you collect "dubia dollars" and it gives you money off of future purchases. They have a good variety of feeders.
