Mesh enclosures are thought of by many to be one of the best options, but saying for sure which is best is difficult because there are many people on here who're for and against them. I'm in the pro mesh camp because of how convenient they are in terms of the ventilation and cleanliness, however...
By leaking do you mean that it has no drainage?
I'm looking into this issue as well as my chameleon's going to be in a Reptibreeze XL in a few months and I'm exploring possibilities. I'm considering buying a strong gardening tray into/onto which I'll be able to place the vivarium after...
If your chameleon ingests any by mistake it could become rather ill, as pretty as natural substrate in a viv looks it's better to err on the side of caution.
I roll with no substrate as well, it's safer, more hygienic and also a lot easier when it comes to cleaning. I think your viv looks great, especially with the skulls on the bottom, but panthers need a lot of ventilation so keeping one in a glass viv is a bit of a risk. I kept my veiled in a...
I use dust my crickets with Repashy maybe once or twice a week several days apart, saturdays they get dusted with ReptiVite with D3, and the other days of the week they get dusted with calcium. As for my gutloading my crickets get grated carrot and apple with about a teaspoon of a home-made dry...
I don't have a panther, I have a veiled, but I've read that it's suitable for various types of chameleons. I bought some a few weeks ago not long after I bought my little guy, before buying I did a little research and I read rather high praise for it, and as someone who actually uses it I can...
I know the one, I have one too into which I plan on putting my chameleon in a few months, at the moment he's only 3.5 months so he's in the medium sized ReptiBreeze. I asked because I've found that since putting mine into a screen viv like the ReptiBreeze he has no problem at all catching his...
Depending on your vendor you can get them in about the same variety of sizes as crickets, from about centimetre or less in length all the way to adult size.
Due to the lack of variety of feeders available to me I've found myself in rather the same situation, I only started offering small mealworms to my male veiled about a week ago, he's only 3.5 months old, before then his diet consisted of crickets too, much to my annoyance. It's odd but my...
Thanks, Laurie, but for now I'll hold off on further orders from William, but I MAY invest in a panther in a little while, so I have little doubt that I'll be contacting him again, and possibly investing in one of his cages with the drainage tray unless I find a suitable alternative over here. I...
I was told by the shop where I got my Ziggy that he was about 2 months old, I've had him for a month now, and I was pretty sure he was a little more than long than 2 months. Anybody mind giving me their opinion as to his age?
I've been looking through various options to deal with the drainage issues that I'm likely to encounter with my XL Reptibreeze when I start using it in a few months. Right now my chameleon is in a medium Reptibreeze and I'm dealing with excess water by mopping it up with paper towels...
I hadn't planned on upgrading the enclosure for another month, but looking at him these past few days I saw he was actually getting a tad big for the one he was in, so I bought a new one yesterday, and I'm really happy I did.
