Well its been a while since ive been on here, had to deal with some family issues but somehow this lil guy is still kicking, not necessarilly improving but not getting any worse. His hemipenes are back in. The vet is at a loss he said he has never seen a cham bounce back like this...he hasnt...
It seem like a catch 22 at this point. The vet thinks an invasive surgery will probably kill him, but if the hemipenes completely dry out that could kill him as well. He said there have been cases where the hemipenes have fallen off on their own after drying up and the lizards have lived. But...
sorry its been a while since ive posted an update. It has been a lil rocky. He is still eatung and gaining strength. his colors are poping but he pushed his hemipenes completely out :(. i have been keeping them lubed with KY as well as daily soakings in sugar water but he still hasnt pulled...
Today was a pretty good day for the lil guy...he has started slowly eating dubias, rubbed some stuck shed loose from his eye turret and decided to pop some blues
Thank you! He is a little trooper. His urates are white for the most part but some days they have a slight orange yellow look to them, depending on how much he has drank. He still isn't drinking much from the leaves, we still have to use a dropper and he drinks 2cc of water each day. Certain...
I will give it a try, however I don't understand how soaking doesn't help with hydration. According to our vet lizards hydrate when soaking because they absorb water through their vent.
He's still chugging along. He went on a hunger strike for about a week, which had us worried, but he is slowly starting to eat again. He is climbing more on his own. Still falls from time to time, but it is happening less and less so thats a good sign. Not much else to update, he isn't...
So he is still in the process of shedding. All that is left is his head and one section of his tail. I am pretty sure they eye issue was stuck shed like you all said. Before I left for work this morning he was rubbing his face on a dowel and peeled some skin from his eye and it looked normal...
I will give the Q-tip a try today when I get home from work, I was thinking about a shower, but he has a really hard time gripping the plants, and you are correct he gets way to stressed out. He still has a mild prolapse, that is slowly retracting, but anytime he stresses he pushes his...
I didnt even think about the internal eyelid...that would make sense if it was stress related. Do they tend to go off feed while in shed...all my other reptiles do, but wasnt sure about chams...as far as suppliments the vet told me to keep it simple for now...he is dosed with baytril every...
I have a vet and have posted about the vet in this entire thread...he said that he is too stressed out and weak to attwmpt anything and his office is no closed. I really dont know what else i can do
Alright guys i need some more input...i have only gotten him to take two worms today and 1 dropper of water...he started shedding today and had a normal BM...his urates were white no orange at all...his colors where he has shed are bright...but his eyes are sunken in and i cant see his pupil or...
We seem to take a spet forward and 2 back...he has gone two days without eating...and regurged what looked like a clear sack with some undigested worms yesterday morning...and today is back to normal bowel movements and hungry...i am picking up some more feeders today...he also looks a bit...
Well not sure what to make of tonight. We were giving him some water from the dropper and he was acting like he had to go to the bathroom. He was pushing but the only thing that came out was blood...it wasnt bloody stool just bright red blood...after he stopped pushing there was no residual...
