Wow, from first pic to last you can see there has been quite the recovery. Chameleons are stronger then we think maybe?

Anyways, cheers to you for taking him in and providing such good care.

As for silkworms, about 2 weeks ago I was finding it very hard to find them as well. I almost never find them locally.

I did go to this place www.silkwormshop.com and ordered 50 with 1 pound of silk worm chow and now I've got huge fat juicy silkworms. Maybe check them out if you haven't gotten any silks yet.

great job and im def. hoping he pulls through completely. I don't understand why people knowing they either cant care for them or don't want animals anymore, continue down that road. If you ever get to that point people need to find homes for them.

Thanks for the silkworm suggestion. I am going to the Orange County Repticon this weekend, so if I don't find any there I will check the link out. On a side note the poor lil guy was trying to have a BM this morning and couldn't get it out due to the stitching even though the vet left plenty of room. We called the vet and he told us to bring him in right away and they were going to keep him over night for monitoring

The vet just called me and had me pick him up...they removed the stitches because he went completely brown and is now pitch black...i am at a loss....everything was going so well

Well he is back in his enclousure and has gotten some of his green banding back, but also kept some dark spots. His hemepienes are partially out, but not completely. He is eating and drinking water no problems, but back to not being able to climb or grip anything. The vet told us to keep him on antibiotics for his eyes and just keep doing phone in followups weekly. He told us to continue lubricating and doing sugar water soaks until he is in better shape because he feels any attempt at surgery at this point will probably kill the lil guy. I feel like we are kind of back to square one, but we will see what happens all we can do is continue to try.

It could be that he was just barely getting some reserves back (and getting back voluntary control of himself) when he had his surgery and it just knocked him back a bit. Chams react to unusual total body stress with such dark coloration...its like shock I think. I suspect he'll start making progress again, but quicker this time.

Well not sure what to make of tonight. We were giving him some water from the dropper and he was acting like he had to go to the bathroom. He was pushing but the only thing that came out was blood...it wasnt bloody stool just bright red blood...after he stopped pushing there was no residual blood running out and he didnt act like anything was wrong. He is now basking moving around acting normal

We seem to take a spet forward and 2 back...he has gone two days without eating...and regurged what looked like a clear sack with some undigested worms yesterday morning...and today is back to normal bowel movements and hungry...i am picking up some more feeders today...he also looks a bit dehydrated but isnt readily accepting water.

Alright guys i need some more input...i have only gotten him to take two worms today and 1 dropper of water...he started shedding today and had a normal BM...his urates were white no orange at all...his colors where he has shed are bright...but his eyes are sunken in and i cant see his pupil or iris in one of the eyes...im guessing this isnt normal for a shed correct? [emoji30]

I have a vet and have posted about the vet in this entire thread...he said that he is too stressed out and weak to attwmpt anything and his office is no closed. I really dont know what else i can do

Is it a piece of the shed in the eye? Cause my girl has had that a couple times, it's looks bad, I couldn't see anything Either and we just gave her more mistings. But maybe that's not the case for your guy! Hope you get it worked out! We're rooting for him!

He does look dehydrated, but the sunken eye turrets can also be caused by general illness. However, it looks to me like he just has his inner eyelid closed? If he is just closing his eyes this could be caused by all the stress and issues you have mentioned.

Sorry if I missed it, but did you mention what vitamin supplements you are providing?

By the way, really good job on taking care of him, you have had quite the road to recovery, and I wish you the best!

You are doing a really great job.

Dont give up hope on the size and coloring. We took in a boy that was 3.5 years old and after a while he gained some weight and got all of his colors back.

You are on the right track to get him healthy. I did also notice that my panther was a dull color when on medications, but a month or so later started to color back up.

He seems to be dehydrated and that does look like a shed or something in his eye. He has been through so much recently, hopefully he has enough energy to get well.
