Thanks guys! I think the issue with him was that we weren't keeping track of dusting bugs and rotating crickets and worms as well as we used too. We got lax and paid for it. Petsmart has policies, but I'll be the very first to tell you that they aren't always awesome. :( At our store, my...
I had posted on here about a month ago that I had gotten a baby veiled with MBD from work (petsmart.) He is recovering beautifully and I just wanted to share some pictures. I'm ecstatic with his progress!!!
The first one is him at work the day I brought Orion home (march 9,2015) second is the...
I made one out of foam and grout and because of the high humidity in my veiled's cage, the grout (sealed with grout waterproofer) is just peeling away. I'm going to try and pull it out in the next few weeks.
It just doesn't last for the amount of work you need to put into it.
I had seen your other post on here just a minute ago. I don't know if your cage is also called a cantina, but everyone on this thread is talking about a water fountain, not the cage you have. I've seen the cage you have and it is not at all appropriate for any reptile. None of the cages or tanks...
Thank you. Yes I know about the UV needing to be changed. It's only been out of the box about 3 weeks. He is recovering as best as possible from MBD, so he was in a 5 gal fishtank till he was able to climb again. Now he's climbing from top to bottom of his new cage!
I move my baby into a ReptiBreeze L and kept his dome fixture and lights from his old cage (100 w double dome, ZooMed). He just has a 60w blue heat bulb and a 5.0 Reptisun (both came with the dome.) His basking spot stays between 75-80 degrees F and he's around 4-5 months. I know it should be...
I've actually been looking into doing something like this for my cham and researched the heck out of it. Simple carbon filter or fish filters would not work, they don't filter out bacteria as fish need "good" bacteria to eat the "bad" bacteria. All fish filters promote growth of "good" bacteria...
Oh, also, since I have you all here, lol. He was getting lots of Flukers liquid calcium (about 2 drops a day orally,) and now I have stopped that and added a little bit to my misting bottle. I also have been dusting his crickets.
Should I stop adding a few drops of liquid calcium to the...
I have a baby, male veiled chameleon who is very nicely recovering from MDB. He will always be special needs and has slightly malformed legs.
He is about the size of my palm, if not smaller. I had him on A/D wet food and wax worms for the first week I had him (he had a bad mushy jaw) and...

Dr. Timmons, He is awesome and I believe his main area of study in school was reps. I work at their sister clinic and my friend is one of the ER techs for all 5 of their clinics. Timmons is probably the...
So, new discovery; a month or so ago I looked up how to sex a veiled chameleon and misinterpreted the info as a male has a spur on all four feet. Well, looking at my baby's casque compared to other females of it's size, I'm like, hmm, mine looks very tall and she has nubs on her back feet. Welp...
So little Athena went to the vet today, he said it is definitely MBD and yes, she will likely have some deformities but should recover well enough. He suggested Critical Care, which I will be researching in just a bit (it's been a busy day!) Instead of the A/D, just a bit more tailored to reps...
Hi, my name is Kim and I work at a Petsmart. We've had a baby, female veiled Chameleon for sale for about a month now, not sure on age but she's barely the size of my palm. She's been a healthy eater and has had UV lights on from around 7am to 9 pm every day as well as heat lamps, switched to...
