I imagine you are probably right about it being pretty normal. I know my male 5 month old panther does the same thing. My wife thinks it's the cutest thing. Lights come on at 7am off at 7:30pm. By 6pm he is in his spot, tail curled, lightened colors, and slowly blinking his eyes.
His room...
Great find. Looks really cool! Be interesting to know how much (if any) UVB can get through when you roll down the plastic cover on the roof.
Have you ordered one yet? Be good to get a review. Prices look reasonable.
Here are a couple of thoughts, although you may have already considered these:
- I see you have a female Panther also. Any chance she is receptive right now and/or can your male see her?
- My male Panther sometimes does this when he is about to shed. He get's agitated and starts doing...
Sleeping
Thank you, Julia!
Here's a picture of him sleeping. A week ago, he was almost solid white when sleeping, now I notice some red peaking through too.
I have read somewhere (sorry can't remember where) that it is possible that some chams can lay a second clutch of fertile eggs from the prior mating. Has anyone heard of that occuring? If so, could that be the case here?
A little less excited..
Here he is when he isn't so excited ... looking a little more like a 4.5 month old.
I had no idea a chameleon could be so much fun... :D
They are so neat.
My 4.5 month old male blue bar ambilobe is growing up. "Fireball" is starting to show his true colors. :) For size reference he is sitting on my 7yr old's hand, after coming home from a well check visit with Ferretinmyshoes.
He's really a sweet guy...
