It sounds like it may be too humid and probably too cold at night. I would guess ammonia. Probably clear out some items, less mist. Fresh dry air may do him some good with sunlight

How long was he prescribe the medication and how long did it take to use all medications? I have a feeling based on your verbiage that there were several days that you may have missed dosage.
