    Basking?

How often would you expect a Yemen to bask? When we went to collect him yesterday from his previous owner he went under the basking light a couple of times whilst we were chatting. The room wasn't. He spent about 1hr 30mins in the car yesterday in a poly box with the car heaters on and basked...

    Ok to get dripped on?

Only got our first Chameleon today but he's currently sat under the dripper letting it drip on his back.

    Meet Baron Greenback

We picked this lovely boy up today, in a way it was a real shame as his owner didn't want to see him go but space and children dictated he had to sell. He's not been in his new house long and wasn't feeling very photogenic but I did manage to get one semi decent picture. So far he has...

    Do You or Don't You???

We're collecting our first chameleon today and I've decided to call him Baron Greenback. Dangermouse fans will recognise the name.

    How's this enclosure looking?

Sorry to bump this but we're going out today to buy more bits and I can get some cork bark if it's safe to use?

    How's this enclosure looking?

Can cork bark be used with yemens? I noticed some branch type peices at our local reptile place when I was out today.

    How's this enclosure looking?

The guy I'm buying the Chameleon from has some vines for me but I can buy more if more are required. What would you make the walkway out of?

    How's this enclosure looking?

The vines have yet to go in as we haven't got them yet but my question is whether there's too much foliage in there or not? The plant in the middle is Monstera but it may not be staying, I'm not sure yet. Enclosure is 48" tall x 30" x 16.5". The space top left is where the basking area will...

    100% safe plants for yemen?

So many conflicting opinions on some plants. I've been googling like a mad man and some people say Monstera is perfectly fine (I'm looking right now at a Chemeleon web sites safe plant list and it's on there) and others say to avoid it but I can't find what the reason is for this.

    Light Replacement Frequency

The zoomed reptisun tubes say replace every 12 months, is that not the case and they need doing every 6?

    Enclosure positioning

I don't think reflection would be an issue as we've got double glazing which I've not seen a reflection in and we've also got a net on the window as well as the curtain. We live in a residential area so the view it would get is people's houses.

    Enclosure positioning

Can I place a flexarium housing a Yemen in front of a window and if so do I need to keep that window shut or is a light breeze now and again ok?

    100% safe plants for yemen?

Ok just been shopping at our local garden centre which has a reptile shop within it and the Chameleon guy said these would be ok: Monstera Dracena (not sure which species exactly) Epipremnum aureum Now I'd not come across Monstera before so I've just done a forum search and it seems it's...

    100% safe plants for yemen?

I need some help as I'm getting a little frustrated. I've looked up the common plants via the database on this site and so far have a grand list of 3 plants that I can use without worrying about how much might get eaten: Dracaena fragrans Dracaena deremensis Hibiscus rosa-sinensis...

    Does this look ok?

I agree it does but it's huge! I will of course keep it, if we can make space for the big one at some point then that's great but right now it won't really fit.

    Does this look ok?

Already asked about the UV lamp, just waiting on a reply. I'm going to move it into a smaller flexarium, in my other thread it was agreed that a 100gal flexarium would be adequate. At the moment it's in a 260 gallon, so once I've done that I'll put more plants in.

    Does this look ok?

It's a 4ft tube hanging down the left side of the cage, I mistook it for a window at first glance
