I am happy to report that I just went up to check on Claudia and there was a nice, healthy poop and beautiful white urates in the cage. I am so relieved. Thanks for the tips on getting her to go. I think the hornworms were the secret :)
Thankfully, her hornworms arrived today. They were pretty small so I gave her two of them which she inhaled. Hoping that stirs something up. I misted her and soaked everything with warm water before I left the house too. This is a picture of her this morning. She's active, crawled out onto my...

Ahhh, thank you both! I was so scared that I was stressing her out I didn't even stop to think that she may be trying to absorb the heat. It's pretty chilly today, but temps are going to climb back up for the weekend so I'll try again then in the cage outside. Thanks again!
Hi guys,
So I've been trying to get Claudia to enjoy being outside most of the summer. I take her out maybe once a week for a few minutes at a time. My goal was to gradually get her used to being out there. We have nice bushes for her to perch on and everything.
But... she hates it...
How old is she? Can you post a picture of her? Do you have a laying bin set up for her? It's possible she may be getting ready to lay eggs, but there are a lot of reasons she may not be eating. Check out this link, and fill out the form so everyone can have more info on your cham :)
If you get a cricket container with the tubes, you won't even have to touch them. They'll go into the tube, you pull the tube out and shake them out into whatever you use to dust your feeders (I use a tall deli cup) and then I pour them into the cage or her feeding cup (I switch off so she can...
The "good range" for humidity for a veiled is between 40-70% -- if it stays too humid in their enclosure, they can develop upper respiratory infections. And if the bottom of the enclosure is *too* wet, and the water pools down there, that's no good either. That water is a breeding ground for...
Maybe try ordering some hornworm eggs? That way they'll hatch after a couple of days and you can feed them to him while they're still small and growing. If you put them somewhere colder than room temperature it'll slow their growth too, so that may give you time to feed off quite a few before...
