i've just read on another link that you shouldnt use ceramic heaters.
why is this?
i had a vet tell me this is the best possible heat you can give to a chameleon.
i use one that is on a thermostat & my veiled sits under it basking.
or this something else i need to change?

i've just had a power cut, it lasted about 5 mins, lights came back on for about 20 mins, then they went agin for another 5 mins.
i am now just woundering, what would i do regard to heat if i had a power cut that...

i've hiding the wax worms from my husband, so he cant give them to monty.
he has eatern alk his food today, so i think iwill treat him, as he seemed a little un seatted after i canhed his light x
how oftern & how many wax worm can my baby cham eat per week, my husband gave him 3 1 day & 2 the next - without me knowing & he didnt eat any of his other food.
he's now eating normaly.
so just want to know when i can treat him

monty has a ceramic basking lamp whcih is 86.
i changed his uvb lights today from coiled to stip lights, which are in a hood, it does have a space for a little round heat lap, but didnt buy that i was told as i had the ceramic there was no need for it.
would you think he need thats too...
changed the uvb lighting in my chams viv today - not too sure he is too keen on it though?
i original had a coil light system & i have now changed it for a strip uvb lighting system.
since i changed it, he keeps going to the bottom of his cake & is darker in colour than before i changed...

yes, still in the glass tank - but, my husband has removed the doors & we've added mesh to the front.
i have spoken to breders over here in england & they said humidity is an issue with an all mesh viv over here.
i've been looking on the net at other viv's, but they are wood sides, bottom...
i have just changed my lighting sysytem from a coil light, to a repti glo strip light
2x5.0 uvb
(30% uva & 5% uvb)
the viv now looks more tropica & not as bright as with the coil light
i really hope i've done the right thing???????????

please to report, that after putting locast in monty's cup this morning, he went straigh down & ate them - so i'm guessing he was full from all the wax worms my husband gave to him with out me knowing x
been looking on the net, but at the moment, have only found silk worms, so have ordered some of them, i'm gonna try in my local reptile shop tomorrow & see if they can order in for me, have looked on a few american sites, but they want a min order of $100, which is no good for me - i'll keep on...
