We have the new monsoon....got it at a USARK auction. Honestly I got it to check it out. Thus far....it works great for my frilled dragons, love that it is super quiet and yes it comes in a great package. However with that being said....I find things like this are not built to last on a long...
Not sure if some of you have had issues with water damage with auto misters around your cages. My husband and I recently re-did our reptile room and came up with a system of dealing with all the water after misting.
Background our chams were in my sons room and the amount of water damage...
Most reptiles do not enjoy others company and typically one will dominate the other for basking, feeding and water. Chams fall into this category as well as beardies...snakes...iggys...monitors and etc. Now with that being said...it can be done and some very experienced ppl have done it...
Holy crap they are painful!!! I mean we have a mean iggy that gets a hold of me occasionally and I have been tagged by the snakes, mistakenly bit by the beardie trying to eat a flower and scratched up pretty bad from a monitor....but this WOW...he got me good and because like an idiot I pulled...
good to know...he has just never ever been like that. EVER!!!! He interacts with my son and some of the other kids and has been nothing but so gentle and over the top friendly. Even the vet was commenting on how nice he was when he went in. I was thinking maybe he is ready to mate or...
I have to say I am in total shock right now. My male is almost a year old...he has grown very quickly and is always so friendly...espescially with women. Never bit doesn't even warn you....just a total sweetheart.
Today...I was 3 hours late putting his greens in his cage. His light was...
Thompson...I am kind of right with you on that one!! I know he stated it was fine....but wow...if I leave the Power Sun I am sure I will be super paranoid.
Update on George's visit to the doc...
Ok just got back from the vet visit....
Here is what is going on. George has a sunburn...not a burn..but a sunburn much like we get. Now this could of happened in his cage or as he was free roaming and near the window. He was given a sulfate cream...
Was it a fresh fecal you took to the vet?? I know mine says the fresher the better as you can catch much more. ?? Just a thought but I would definetly let them know.
Just to keep you all updated....it looks as if it has pulled away more today. I have an appt. with our vet at 2:30 so I will definetly let you all know what he says. Again thank you for your help.
Thanks everyone! He is a very handsome man and spoiled to boot.
I agree it looks as if something sliced him but there is NOTHING that could of possibly did that. And when you look at it closely it is definetly like a crack. He does get to free roam but even that area is free of anything...
Sorry for the wait...we are dealing with monsoons here right now in AZ.
Ok the actual light is on a light hook and stands about 22 inches from the highest place he can reach.
Here is a picture of the enclosure...
This is George
Here is the split
As you can see it is...
My veiled cham is approx. 1 year old. He grew very very fast and is quite active. He loves to go out of his cage and we have set up a safe place for him to free roam a few times a week. He is in a large DIY screen cage. He has a power sun heat lamp. He has real plants and fake plants in his...
