    stressed out?

My 6 month veiled chameleon rarely turns bright green and remains darkish brown most of the time. Even while hes basking, he will still remain the same colour. At first, I thought my temp wasn't high enough so I got a new lightbulb and now his basking temps range from 80-95 F. Is this normal?

    Veiled Chameleon Eats Anole

Yes, it is true and I will own up to it for saying it was captive bred. I just assumed that it was since thats what the worker at the store told me. But scrolling through these forums, I should have known better than to trust some of the things pet workers tell me LoL

    Veiled Chameleon Eats Anole

There I was... ...in my humble abode passing time on the computer when I stumbled on something that caught my attention. "Now, I am not saying it's right or wrong to feed anoles to chameleons, but your statement was pretty clearly BS," GOOD ONE! Again, I was unaware that there were so...

    Veiled Chameleon Eats Anole

Yeah, same. I would've never tried it but I read somewhere in the forums that pinky mice and lizards give calcium that insects cannot. Anyone can correct me if I misunderstood.

    Veiled Chameleon Eats Anole

Thank you for your response. I have never fed him anything besides crickets after that. And no, it wasn't a wild anole but I'm just glad I didn't have any compaction problems afterwards. I guess I got lucky this time. But I was just wondering, when, if anytime will it be appropriate to be...

    5 1/2 month male veiled

His name is L.A.D. and was purchased from Will Hayward when he was 1 1/2 months if I'm correct. (If Will could verify this, it would be great) He eats about 6-15 insects a day. I recently built this cage with my dad and still need to make a drainage system, but till then, I'm using a garbage...

    New Cage

My dad and I just built a new cage for my veiled chameleon with dimensions of 4' 2' 2'.(pictures will be up soon!) But I was just wondering if I would need a bulb that produces 75watts or 100 watts? And do I need to change my Reptiglo 5.0 UV tube to a 10.0? If anyone out there has the exact...

    dragons vs. chameleon

I know that chameleons get stressed at the mere sight of one another but is it the same with seeing other reptiles, specifically, bearded dragons? I ask this because I'm placing a tank with a bearded dragon right beside the chameleon cage since I have no other place to put it. Thank you for your...

    mealworm care

I'm going to try and breed mealworms but was wondering on what kind of container I would need? I was reading information on a site that said not to use a lid but what happens when they turn into beetles? Aren't the mealworm beetles able to fly? And do I need any special equipment for the eggs...

    Aluminum mesh

I'm building my own cage with aluminum mesh and wondering the ups and downs of it. Can crickets chew their way out? Is it durable even when my chameleon gets big? Thanks.

    Cricket Keeper

"I have a small one as well but I keep large crix. They have definitely managed to get out of that little hole where you secure that very insecure flap/cap to cover the hole (not the big hole itself). Watched them jump to the top air vents, then find the flaws. I noticed that they always get out...

    Cricket Keeper

I was just wondering, does anyone use the "cricket keeper" sold in pet stores? I've been having trouble with mine lately. I keep medium sized crickets in the holder with no egg carton but they still manage to get out through the little holes. Anyone have a solution?

Basking or possible upper respitory infection?

Hello, I have a male veiled chameleon that is turning two months in a couple days and started noticing something unusual. My temperatures are 80-85 degrees in the basking area and 60-70 degrees else where. In the basking area, my chameleon would open his mouth and sometimes I would catch him...

    Some time spent outdoors

I think you'd remember me. I'm the one who came back with the chameleon that passed away...But in brighter news, the chameleon I have now is doing great. You could already see the size difference from when I got him!
