Hi Matt!
I am dipping the corner of a napkin in the Vitamin A oil and rubbing it on the back of hornworms, it's less than 1 drop. Should I continue this treatment at every feeding? I have already done this about 20 times so far... seeing some subtle improvements.
Or – should I back off on...
Bumping this thread, tried the treatment for 3 weeks but his eye is still being closed 40% of the time. Should I continue Vitamin A treatment 3-4 times per week until it improves? Or would that be dangerous?
I have actually seen my chameleon on many occasions sipping the leaves and licking water, which is why I don't bother with dripping. I have previously tried dripping for 24-48 hours and he didn't seem to take any interest, though I will try it again. I will probably give another 1 hour shower...
Interesting, I do not have a dripper but I do have a mist king setup. We have not done fecal yet, but he is going to vet very soon and I'm afraid all I have is his dry poop, I can't imagine they can use that?
Can you tell me what type of dripper you are using and how quickly it drips? Where do...
Thanks Kelly, I know for sure he is dehydrated based on the poop, and I gave him an extra 1 hour shower today. But I don't see how he is so dehydrated with 5 misting sessions per day at 7 minutes each. Perhaps because he is not eating? How long do these hunger strikes last? How long can they go...
Help please! I have a 10 month old panther chameleon. He has been very picky the last 7 days and refused crickets and all other insects except superworms. He has now been doing 1-2 superworms per day, but he is not eating them at will, I have to try many times. Also, his poop today did not look...
I know it's not a shed since it was about 2.5 months ago, he may shed soon. But I know this is not a shed because of how unusual it looked at first, my hunch is that it was a wound. I'm just hoping it's not a virus or disease of some sort?
About 10 days ago I noticed my chameleon's tale was a glossy color (perhaps blood?). I assume this was because his coloration was dark at the time, but I noticed on both sides of his tale there was this very odd looking shine. My only guess is that it was an injury or a fall he took inside his...
Hi Slinky, can you please tell me the current status of your chameleon's eye? Did you manage to fix it? If so, how? My chameleon has developed the same exact issue and I would be so so grateful if you could please reply with your thoughts. Thank you so much!
We just came back from a highly recommended vet, Dr. Greek and associates in Yorba Linda, they are exotic pet specialists. She didn't give us the best news after taking a look at his eye.
Essentially, the vet probed and cleaned his eye with saline to no avail, the bump which is typically fluid...
Is it just fluid? Have other with similar issues seen this disappear? Any idea what causes it? I'm thinking of waiting 1 week to see if it settles down, is that a bad idea?
There is a bump developing on my chameleon's eye. I noticed it 4 days ago and it has remained the same size, however, I cannot say I have seen it shrink or increase in size, perhaps I need to give it more time. Additional information and pictures below, I would really appreciate any and all...
I asked the breeder today and she said it's nothing to worry about, and that they do "show it off" from time to time. Who knew! It did contract immediately so I don't see any issues as of yet.
I saw my little 5 month old with a bright red fleshy object exposed, I am not sure what to think? It did recede and contract after he seemed to be putting pressure, I assume he was defecating. Is this common when defecating? Anything I should be worried about?
