    A positive story : )

Hello all, I posted in September asking some for some help for our poorly Cham. He had MBD and a bacterial infection. He was in a pretty bad way and when we went to see the vet he felt he was at deaths door : ( Through the treatment of the vet and all the advice I found here I'm happy to...

Scoob, exoticdirect is a pretty good. Petplan did it too I think. Not too expensive either.

    Imflammed nostril

I thought that too but I've never seen it inflammed before. Can they get blocked with it? As he's on antibiotics I didn't think he'd be able to get another infection. Will post a pic shortly I'm not at home atm. Thank you : )

    Imflammed nostril

Hello everyone : ) I posted here a couple of weeks ago when we thought our cham had MBd. Although his calcium levels were low, the vets main concern was a bacterial infection. We've upped his calcium as advised - calci worms, small dusted gut loaded locusts, pear purée and liquid calcium...

    Housekeeping

Hi everyone. Just wondered how everyone keeps their enclosures clean and how often? We've always cleaned with hot water and disenfectant recommended for reptiles once a week obviously poop scooping when we've seen it. Our veiled Cham is recovering from a BI so not sure if it could have been...

    Possible MBD/locusts stuck

Had the blood results back, low in calcium but not dangerously so. He said there is an infection so thanks to those that have pointed that out. Seeing him today for antibiotics. He hadn't pooped for a while but had one earlier, looked like he was struggling though. Fed him some pear purée to...

    Possible MBD/locusts stuck

Thanks : ) we managed to get the locust out but we've stopped feeding them to him for now as they're too big to swallow. Hand feeding seems to be going well. He's very stubborn about it though. He didn't suggest an xray but surprised me, but I suppose the blood test would give some more info...

    Possible MBD/locusts stuck

Just an update. Vet went ok, took some bloods but that's it. Wants to check kidney function. No calcium injection though : / having to hand feed him at the mo. Not sure on the supplements though vet wasn't too clear-can we calcidust daily on each feed as normal and give a nutrobal paste from...

    Possible MBD/locusts stuck

We still have an appointment with the vet today. In honesty I think the bulb may be over 6 months old, not by much but still over the recommended time : / we have another on order, it's 13 which is the same as previous. It's a compact lamp with heat lamp and sits above the viv as we'd been...

    Possible MBD/locusts stuck

Thank you both. He looks a lot better today, more active and his mouth is shut but still a bit wonky. Tried him with some food today but he can't get a good hold on it. He's really trying so his appetite is still there. Will try him on some cress today as he usually just goes directly to it...

    Possible MBD/locusts stuck

Pretty sure it's a repti glo 5.0 compact lamp. He's been drinking a lot more lately but how much water is enough? I've been in contact with the vet so hopefully can arrange an appointment in working hours. I just hope it's not too late : (

    Possible MBD/locusts stuck

Thank you kath. He has calci dust which goes on his feeds. I think we've had the bulb a while, they're Eco terra I think. I feel our ignorance has made him this way. Tried some mealworms today and he can't get a grip on them to eat : ( This is rango.
