Yup there have been plenty of cases posted even in the last year of the unchewed ones coming out the other end and starting to wiggle again. There doesnt seem to be any harm to said chams, but i wouldnt take a chance with a large amount of them with a disabled cham.
Now you can still feed them...
Plenty of chams live without the tongue.
For me, two ended up hyper extending them, which caused them to never shoot out again. They turned into iggy/beardy tongued, and they learned they had to get right up to a feeder to eat. They all had to be tong fed the rest of their lives sans a silky...
Welp thanks to #60degreejanuary Hes up two months early... Oh and since winter is back this week, its a perfect time to get rid of that thick protective brumation shed, while its 25% humidity...
Its not thats its a cheap meter. Its the fact its a UVB meter and not a UVI meter. There is no direct conversion, but rule of thumb is 40:1. So yours says 109, so thats almost 3 UVI, which is on the money.
The fixture is compatible with any T5HO bulb of the same length. So that means you can swap out a 12% if you get a beardy, or swap out a 6500k bulb and get a 2nd fixture for UVB if your plants are not doing well. And yes you can swap out for the reptisun 5.0 and 10.0 bulbs.
The only thing you...
Im more interested in this "sun". Even if its not UVB, if OP found a full spectrum bulb(not just red/green/blue spike led) in the camera world, that might help alot of us that had SAD chameleons in the winter :)
A few things.
This cfl light is junk, its meant for 12-18" tall anole/gecko tanks, not 3-4ft tall chameleon cages. You really need to get a T5HO 6% or 5.0 from arcadia or zoomed.
For most poofiness i recommend zero vitamin/mineral supplements for 30 days. Only dust with plain calcium without...
I remember my first beer...
Anyway Op has has a food hunger strike. This is why we recommend not feeding "just" crickets or "just" mealworms, etc.
If she is an adult or close to it, you should not be feeding a girl every day. Id switch here to twice a week, 3 times at most(you could do...
2 more months to go. Poor guy is starting to get wrinkly and there is not much fat left on the tail. Even the fatty jowls are starting to look a bit deflated.
i just lightly mist and let dry, repeat. It turns to paper and flakes away. If its stuck, i just leave it unless its in a dangerous place like toes were it could cause blood flow issues.
He brumates behind a 6ft piece of plywood. He decided to stick his head out for a while before going back in. But unfortunately i only have about a 66% chance of him brumating till spring. Some times he pulls a beardy and only brumates 3 months. Then im stuck with a shedding tegu in 25%...
Yes, yes it is. You might be better off with Ethyl alcohol(ethanol) wipes or sprays.
Ideally you find a place that sells Cryptolaemus montrouzieri.
But once mealy, normally its scorched earth and throw away the plants...
